Washed Out + Caroline Polachek – You and I

Posted on Updated on

It’s pretty neat when that overwhelming feeling of warmness comes over you when you accomplishing something. For me this tends to happen when I hear a song that makes me shiver. The track is You and I by Washed Out, and features the very talented Caroline Polachek. Together the two come together to create something unreal.

More great tracks are listed on Washed Out’s myspace– take a gander there and then check him out on the Kitsune Maison Compilation 9 album available here.

The National + We Plants Are Happy Plants

Posted on Updated on

The National and We Plants Are Happy Plants come together to create something exclusively good in this remix to Afraid Of Everyone. Like a contemporary disco fever the two combine together to create a retro space odyssey adventure of awesomeness. I don’t think I would want to define this track any other way. It’s the anthem for agoraphobia. By the end you’ll be cruising.

Orneborg – Pierre In The Summer

Posted on Updated on

Orneborg’s Pierre In The Summer is a fascinating set of eclectic disco beats. I find it extremely captivating. The track, which is off his EP Smells Like Spring, changes tempo randomly throughout but maintains a pulsating background to fully grasp the listener. Pretty awesome interchanges if you ask me. Let the melodic tech-house carry you away.

If you also dig what you hear, check out Orneborg on his myspace and find the EP here.

Louis La Roche Feat. Ad-Apt – Missing You

Posted on Updated on

Louis La Roche rocks it hard alongside Ad-Apt to bring you Missing You. A contemporary piece of musical art with tons of disco-rifts and classy vocal drops. A-Apt helps spice the new track up with rap to top it all off.

If you’re a longtime La Roche fan then you know that this isn’t the first time the disco-house mastermind has returned to a retro-jazz style. I love the combo and felt it best within his earlier work On The Floor, which I ran into over a year ago.

It’s all excellent! La Roche funk is my kinda funk. Stay alert Great Britain! Louis is headed your way in June 2010! Check here for dates.

As a bonus here’s some more ‘forgotten’ gems from Louis La Roche including On The Floor.

Arturo [Chivalry’s Dead]

Posted on Updated on

From Transcendence to Islomania & Weathervanes, we now have Arturo’s fourth installment to hit the blog. The Canadian producer from BC has some raw talent mixing fresh disco. His newest is laced with some feel good keys that are perfect for those spring mornings. I love the vibe he produces and I feel this could be his summer when more people connect with his stuff. It’s damn good!

Click the above track titles for previous posts on Arturo. Chivalry’s Dead was original released to the public via The Paper Cranes.
